Please be certain to pay the non-refundable $30 application fee at the time of application. The department will not pull an application until the application fee is paid.

  • Three letters of recommendation

Please submit letters of recommendation along with your online application.

Only Use the form at: http://gradschool.rgp.ufl.edu/pdf-files/recommendation-letter-form.pdf if there is any ERROR with online application and have them sent directly to the department.

  • Statement of purpose

Write a short letter of intent explaining why you want to attend graduate school at the University of Florida, and also what you want to accomplish with your degree.

Please submit the Statement of Purpose using online application.

  • Official Transcripts

Arrange to have all official transcripts sent to the Office of Admissions from each post secondary institution you have attended. If you are an international student, you must: submit transcripts in the original language with a certified English translation and a copy of the degree or certificate is also required in the original language with a certified English translation.

  • Official Test Scores or
  • FE Exam (US Residents only)

Contact the Educational Testing Service to forward your "official" scores to the University of Florida (institution code - 5812.) International students must also send TOEFL scores.

The minimum scores to gain admission into the department are:

  1. GRE - 1100 (master's) or 1200 (PhD), with a minimum of 320 verbal on the verbal portion
  2. TOEFL - 550(paper), 213 (Computer-based), 80 (Internet-based)

NOTE: US Residents - If you plan on obtaining a Masters non-thesis degree, you can use your FE scores in place of the GRE. If you choose to use your FE scores do not forward your GRE scores to the UF Office of Admissions. You must contact the PE board in the state that you completed the FE exam and request that they send a verification of completion of the FE exam. Please have this verification sent directly from the PE Board to the UF Office of Admissions, 201 Criser Hall, Gainesville, FL 32611.

  • Application for Fellowship or Assistantship (optional)

Use the form at: http://gradschool.rgp.ufl.edu/pdf-files/fellowship-assistantship-form.pdf and send it directly to the department. Funding for a fellowship or assistantship is determined by the individual faculty member conducting the research. It is a good idea to directly contact faculty members in you area of interest in addition to submitting the form.
